FAQ
Short answers to the questions holders ask most.
Is this a fork?
No. Nothing forks the chain. An exile is a re-mint of the token plus a move of its liquidity. The old contract keeps existing, untouched, and the old token keeps trading in the old pool.
Can the exiled buy the new token?
Yes. Once the walls rise, they can buy it on the open market like anyone else. The new token is a plain ERC-20 with no blacklist. They just do not receive it for free. Other protocols can read the Stele and decide for themselves how to treat them.
What if I hold on two wallets?
Each wallet votes and claims with its own snapshot balance. Nothing is lost. You must sign from each wallet separately. Do not consolidate old tokens between them after the snapshot, or the moved tokens can no longer be claimed.
Who runs this?
No one. There is no owner, no admin, and no pause. The contracts cannot be changed by anyone, including the people who wrote them. The X account, @OstrakonElysium, is the only announcement channel, and it cannot change a contract.
What happens to my old tokens?
When you claim, your old tokens move to Walls and you receive the same amount of new tokens. Walls sells them into the old pool over time and moves the proceeds into the new pool. Old tokens you never claim stay in your wallet and stay old.
Is there a deadline to claim?
No. Claims have no deadline. You can claim the day after the vote or a year later, all at once or in parts. The old pool will lose value as Walls sells, but your claim is one for one regardless.
What if the vote fails?
Nothing changes for the token. If quorum was reached, the bond goes back to the proposer. If quorum was not reached, the bond is burned. Either way, the token is free for a new Shard.
What if I bought after the snapshot?
Tokens bought after the snapshot carry no vote and no claim. The seller has no old tokens left to hand in, and you have no snapshot balance to prove. A bag moved after the snapshot claims nothing. This stops anyone from buying old tokens cheap after the vote to claim new ones.
Who calls sweep, and who pays the gas?
Anyone can call sweep, at most once an hour per Shard. Anyone can also call open, finalize, raise, sell, and buyback. Whoever calls pays the gas in HYPE. No step depends on a keeper or a team.
Does Ostrakon take a fee?
Yes, one. Every forged token mints 1 % of its old supply to the Treasury. The Treasury sells it over 72 hours and uses the HYPE to buy back and burn $OSTRA. It has no owner and no withdrawal function.
Can I use the Stele in my protocol?
Yes. Call isExiled(address) on the Stele. It returns true if the address was ever exiled from any token. One view call, no permission needed. See Stele.
Is $OSTRA live?
No. $OSTRA is not launched and has no contract address. Anyone sharing one is lying. It will launch on Elysium after mainnet, announced only by @OstrakonElysium.
